Every year on May 13th, believers from all over the world come to pray and pay their promises, walking on their knees. Fátima is the place where the Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Fátima, appeared to three shepherd children, and has become the main sanctuary for the Portuguese Catholic Church. It is a place filled with symbolism, which results in sacred rituals, practiced by those who seek the Divine connection, a way of spiritual purification.

Many faithful approach the Sanctuary by the Way of the Cross, following the 14 stations and final chapel in memory of the Passion of Christ.

The faith that encourages them is strong. It is possible to feel their devotion to complete the final part of their journey of sacrifice. They come on their knees, accompanied by family, friends or alone.
